Madhvani unveils sh500m bursaries
THE Madhvani Foundation will spend sh500m in university scholarships this academic year, an official said this week.
The bursaries will benefit brilliant but underprivileged students pursuing scientific and technical degrees in local universities.
The Foundation is honoured to continue playing a role in building Uganda's intellectual capacity by ensuring that bright students fully exploit their potential by completing their university education,Henry Kyemba, the scholarships committee chairman, said.
With every year that goes by, more high calibre students gain interest in our programme. Many of these have won scholarships and gone on to succeed in their chosen professions,he added.
Kyemba told reporters in Kampala that the scholarships would only be available to the successful candidates after their first year of study.
